Business Planning & Execution

Active X-it Fund + Accelerator / Nonprofit Arm

Challenge:

What would it take to turn a strong idea into a reality? A group of technologists and angels investors came together to form a group that wanted to introduce a new startup investment fund to Pittsburgh while creating an accelerator and non-profit education arm to it. This was an idea that needed to be built from scratch.

Solution & Results:

With the idea in hand, I researched, created, & wrote the action plan for the initial year of work that it would take to launch this project - this included numerous executive summaries, budget forecasting, finding / vetting partners, developing the business structure of each investment (general terms & goals), on-boarding legal partners, acting as lead project manager for all initiatives, designing any needed print material for current / potential investors, supporting the formation of business relationships and partnerships, designing brand material (logos, website, etc.), and serving as the secretary for all meetings.

Challenge:

<bitcore>, a small software agency, was originally looking for a contract designer as an addition to their team. It turned out that they needed a lot more, especially when it comes to settling the infrastructure of their business.

Solution & Results:

For one year we served as the company's Vice President of Business Development. During my time there, I oversaw sales operations, branding, marketing, and human resources departments - specifically responsible for sourcing, qualifying, and securing new business, - tasked with formulating, researching, & writing all internal business plans / contracts - and tasked with setting the foundation for all company culture initiatives .
